MSN® Hotmail® is now Windows Live™ Hotmail®
This is what the Hotmail homepage says now. The company has launched their updated web mail interface for the popular Hotmail webmail service.
The successor to the popular MSN Hotmail is now being rolled out globally as part of the Windows Live family of online applications.
Microsoft says that the Windows Live Hotmail would support 36 languages and features several enhancements which would help the user manage their mail in a more efficient manner.
This new launch is in response to the challenge posed by the Google’s Gmail service and the under development Yahoo Mail Beta.
Microsoft further says that the Windows Live Hotmail delivers a safer, more powerful and productive e-mail experience than previous versions.
The Windows Live Hotmail now comes with inbuilt Windows Live Messenger. Users would be able to see which of their contacts are online.
However market analysts have said that there is nothing exciting enough in this new Hotmail that would lure away users from their Google Gmail service. We agree completely.
