Mozilla launches Firefox eBay Companion add-on for Firefox users
Mozilla Corp. has test launched a new add-on for their Firefox web browser which would enable the users to keep track of their deals on eBay in real time.
The add-on is available for Firefox users and is currently only open to users in the U.K., Germany and France.
Mozilla said that the service would be open to Firefox users in all the countries. Firefox add-ons are simple programs which are designed to add extra functionality to the web browser without bloating the main application.
The just released Firefox eBay Companion would allow users to get an interactive sidebar in the Firefox which would display alerts as items are sold or change status.
The developers said that the add-on uses Firefox’s antiphishing technology and eBay’s Account Guard feature to provide extra security. They hope to release the final version of this add-on by august this year.
