Joost collaborates with Turner, Sony and Hasbro

The people behind Joost have already made their application widely by allowing the beta testers to invite unlimited number of people to get access to the online television service.

Joost has now revealed that they have signed programming deal with major content providers including Turner Broadcasting System Inc., Sony Pictures Television and Hasbro Inc.

Joost is also due for a public launch later this month which would enable anyone with an internet access to download their software to watch television on their computer using an internet connection.

Yvette Alberdingk Thijm, executive vice president of content strategy at Joost added on their service: “There’s a huge hunger for long-form, high-quality online entertainment content.”

Joost would now get media content from Turner including shows from news network CNN and Adult Swim.

Sony would make available vintage shows from its archives including episodes of “Charlie’s Angels,” “Spiderman,” “Starsky & Hutch” and “NewsRadio.”

Viacom has already signed a similar deal with Joost. They are currently involved in a lawsuit with Google over the pirated videos hosted by YouTube video sharing service.
