Pidgin 2.0.0 beta7 is out
The developers behind the instant messaging software application Gaim recently announced that they were renaming the application Pidgin.
They have now released the latest beta Pidgin 2.0.0beta7. A note on the Pidgin website states that this is the last beta in this series and Pidgin 2.0.0 is expected to be released sometime later this week.
They are however suggesting that regular users should stay away from this release as it could potentially have issues with the significant changes in the code which were required due to the name of the project.
The developers are also suggesting that anyone trying to update from the older versions should keep a backup of their ~/.gaim directory before they install this latest beta of Pidgin.
