Apple releases Battery Update 1.2 to fix MacBook battery issue

Apple Inc. has issued a new software update for the users of their MacBook and MacBook Pro portable computers.

The company said that this software patch fixes an issue with battery performance which was recently discovered by them internally.

Apple added that the problematic notebooks were delivered to the customers from February 2006 through April 2007.

This patch is supposed to improve battery performance. It is available as a free download from the company’s website. Users can also download it using the Mac OS X’s internal update mechanism.

Apple adds on their website:

For MacBook and MacBook Pro systems with Intel Core Duo processors, this program extends repair coverage on the battery for up to two years from the date of purchase of the computer.
