Google Desktop 5 now supports Hindi and more
Search engine giant Google has revealed that they have now improved their Desktop search utility to support as many as 29 languages.
There is good news for Hindi speaking people as Google Desktop now supports the Hindi language as well. The company said that they have now localized the software to support languages including French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Japanese, Chinese, and Russian.
The application is available for Windows Vista, XP or 2000 operating systems and indexes all kind of files present on the system.
Users can use a Google search like user interface to search for files on their own systems. The application enables them to see preview of files as well.
Enhancing Google Desktop is important for the company as Microsoft has included a similar feature in their recently launched Vista operating system.
Incidentally, Google has also made Desktop search tool available for the Mac platform. Mac users already have a similar functionality on their system by the name Spotlight.
