Joost signs up 31 advertisers worldwide as they prepare for public launch

Internet television broadcasting service Joost is still undergoing beta testing. They are scheduled for a public release soon and have now revealed that they have signed up with 31 advertisers worldwide to support the service.

The Joost project was started by Niklas Zennstrom and partner Janus Friis last year and they have managed to impress the beta testers with the service which is undergoing testing since quite some time now.

Joost aims to offer television programming on the computer using an internet connection. They have already signed up content deals with media companies including Viacom Inc., CBS Corp. and several independent producers.

The people behind the project said that some of the advertisers interested in supporting the program include Coca-Cola Co., Hewlett-Packard Co., Intel Corp., and Nike.

They have also signed up some other big names like Visa, United Airlines and the U.S. Army in addition to Procter & Gamble Co., Kraft Foods Inc., Electronic Arts Inc., Sony Electronics Inc., Microsoft and Motorola.

Some of the European advertisers include General Motors Europe; IBM; L’Oreal Paris; Nokia’s N-series phones; Vodafone; and Time Warner Inc.’s Warner Bros.
