Microsoft to establish Malware Protection Centers in Dublin and Tokyo

Software giant Microsoft has announced their plans to establish two new labs in Dublin and Tokyo. These two setups would study the growing amount of malicious software circulating on the Internet.

Microsoft said that people working at these two new units would work on creating new signatures for their security products to counter the latest computer threats emerging in the market.

Vinny Gullotto, a Microsoft general manager made the formal announcement related to these plans at the RSA Conference Japan 2007.

Market analysts say that these two new labs would be similar to the ones managed by rival security product makers Symantec, McAfee and Kaspersky. Microsoft at this moment has just one lab at its headquarters in Redmond, Washington.

With the opening of these two new units, they would be able to cater to three different time zones.
