Firestorm project to add BitTorrent capability to Mozilla Firefox
We already have BitFox project going on which aims to make it easier for Mozilla Firefox users to download files through the BitTorrent network.
Now, another project named Firestorm has started with the same aim. This new software add-on is being developed as part of a Senior Software Engineering project at Penn State University.
They claim that the add-on would make it easier for people new to the BitTorrent technology to start downloading from the BT networks.
It would not be overloaded with excessive features which are present in standalone clients making it user friendly.
The alpha release is already available and it allows some basic options like adjusting the upload and download speeds.
They are using the original code from the Official BitTorrent Client and the developers behind the project promise that they would continue to enhance this add-on even after their school project is complete.
