Adobe showcases Adobe Video Player for viewing online videos offline

Google already provides a Google Video Player which is basically used to play the video hosted on Google Video service offline.

Now, Adobe has announced that they would soon make available a software product named Adobe Video Player which can be used to play back video online or offline.

This could drastically change the way people check out the videos on the popular video sharing services like Google Video, YouTube and MySpace.com.

The company said that their Adobe Video Player is based on their Flash player technology which is used by these services for broadcasting videos online.

None of the other video players which let people watching online videos offer offline video watching capabilities. Apple, Microsoft and Real are some of the software companies which provide video player applications.

Forrester Research analyst James McQuivey spoke on this development: “Adobe has created the first way for media companies to release video content, secure in the knowledge that advertising goes with it. Control is something that media companies absolutely get high on.”
