Health Hiway: IBM to provide solutions in partnership with Apollo Hospital Group

Apollo Hospital Group has announced that they are going to collaborate with the US based tech giant IBM. IBM would be providing the hospital chains with hosted software applications in partnership with Apollo.

Mohammed H. Naseem, vice president for healthcare at IBM India said in a statement that this particular segment in the Indian market is highly untargeted but is worth at least around $300 million over the next four to five years.

IBM would be providing potential customers with its hardware, middleware, and services infrastructure solutions. Apollo would be providing their healthcare domain expertise.

Naseem added: “We need to have a hosted model to scale across the country, and for hospitals to get the benefit of lower costs.”

The two companies said that the project named Health Hiway would also be targeted at the physician practices, pharmacy and third party administrators. They would be benefitted from the low cost of services at minimal investments.
