Google apologizes for their Pinyin Input Method Editor

Search engine giant Google has surprised the onlookers by simply apologizing to Sohu.com for their recently released Pinyin Input Method Editor which apparently had some copyrighted technology owned by the latter.

The company said on a blog post: “We want to face this problem directly and thus apologize to our users and Sohu.” They have however not offered an explanation on how Sohu’s owned technology ended up becoming a part of their application.

Google did say that they did use the Sohu’s own PIM software to develop their own version. Sohu has yet to respond to this acceptance of fault from the internet giant.

Sohu.com had requested the US based tech giant to stop distributing the Pinyin IME based on its dictionary and asked for an apology. Looks like they have received what they were looking for. We hope to see no legal angles to this controversy.
