Microsoft showcases Deepfish prototype mobile web browser
Software giant Microsoft has developed a prototype of a web browser for mobile platform. They call this product Deepfish.
The company claims that this browsing technology would make surfing on the mobile devices as convenient and feature-rich as browsing on a PC.
They have made the product available for download in limited numbers from their Live Labs and they would close the preview download after a limit is reached.
Microsoft said that most current generation mobile browsers reformat the page to fit on the small screen of the devices. This results in a situation where the user has to end up conducting too much scrolling to read the page.
Their Deepfish technology solves the problem by letting the users zoom in and out of the part of the page that interests them.
Interestingly, this is similar to how their recently released ZenZui technology works on the mobile platform.
Opera is currently one of the leaders in the field of mobile web browsers. The company makes use of their ERA (Extensible Rendering Architecture) technology to fit regular web pages on the mobile screens.
