Shai Agassi leaves SAP AG

Software Company SAP has confirmed that one of their top executive Shai Agassi is indeed leaving the company. He is leaving the firm to pursue his interest in the alternative energy and environmental policy.

Interestingly, Agassi was largely considered by the market experts to be the potential successor to Chief Executive Henning Kagermann at SAP.

He is currently service as president of SAP’s product and technology group. He is also a senior member of the company’s top management board.

Hasso Plattner, chairman of the SAP supervisory board and company founder had this to say about Agassi’s decision: “While we regret Shai’s decision to leave, we congratulate him on his record of achievement at SAP.”

Media sources quote Agassi as saying that he would “remember my time at SAP as one of the most satisfying periods of my career.”

This is the second setback the company in recent days. Just few days back database software maker Oracle sued SAP charging them with corporate theft.
