Microsoft charging more for tech support in Malaysia
Market sources have confirmed that the software giant Microsoft is now charging almost double the fees they used to charge to support Windows Vista and Office 2007 in Malaysia.
Customers buying these new products launched by the company will get unlimited numbers of phone, email and web exchanges with Microsoft technical support for free during the first 90 days.
After this free period, customers would be required to pay RM90 per incident. They used to charge RM38 per incident earlier.
Manish Sinha, managing director of customer service and support for Microsoft in Asia-Pacific confirmed this in a statement to the press: “The new support prices reflect new technology usage and customer implementations which will allow us to provide targeted support for customers who may be using more integrated technology solutions.”
The fees in Singapore have been raised too from S$17.85 to S$40.
