Updated Apple iTunes still has issues with Windows Vista

Apple has just released an updated edition of their Apple iTunes application which is used to sync songs with the popular iPod digital music player.

This updated edition featured support for the upcoming Apple TV appliance from the company. It was also supposed to fix the glitches caused on the Windows Vista platform.

Though, Apple has removed the warning on their website that Apple iTunes users should avoid upgrading to the Vista operating system for the time being, they have said that some issues continue to exist.

The company’s latest guidance says that the updated iTunes is recommended for use with most editions of Windows Vista.

Apple added: “Apple is actively working with Microsoft to resolve a few remaining known issues.” The company has not specified how long it would take them to completely sort out the issues with the Vista operating system which ships with almost all new PCs in the market today.

The company had more disappointing news. iTunes remains unsupported on 64-bit editions of either Windows XP or Windows Vista. With Microsoft a challenger in the digital music player market with the launch of Zune, things can only become more complicated for Apple users on the Windows platform.
