Google and The Stop Badware Coalition improve malware notification to publishers

Search engine giant Google has said that they have now improved the way they notify the webmasters who website is flagged dangerous by their malware filters.

Google launched the notification service in collaboration with The Stop Badware Coalition.

Google said in a blog post that they would now begin providing more detailed alerts along with notifications via e-mail to webmasters.

Till now, they have only been informing the webmasters that their websites had been identified as the ones having malware. Google would now point them to specific offending pages from their sites that they believe have issues with security.

Google posted in a blog post: “This can be helpful when the malicious content is hard to find. By providing example URLs, webmasters are one step closer to diagnosing the problem and ultimately re-securing their sites.”

This information would also be made available in the site’s summary page in Google’s Webmaster Tools site.
