Adobe starts shipping Photoshop Lightroom 1.0

Software giant Adobe has confirmed that they are now shipping their much awaited Photoshop Lightroom 1.0 application.

This application has been designed for pro photographers and it would be available through April for $199, then rises to $299.

Adobe says that this application lets the user manage, adjust and present digital photographs. Analysts claim that it is the Adobe’s challenger to the Apple Aperture application which is only available on the Mac platform.

This application went through an extensive public beta test for Mac OS X and Windows for the past year. Adobe confirmed that users of the beta version can continue to use the software through the remainder of its activation period.

The application has a system requirement of Mac OS X v10.4.3 or later and a 1GHz G4 or better, 768MB RAM and 1GB hard disk space. They are going to ship a universal binary version for Apple users.
