StartupMonitor review: Guard your System Startup in Realtime
There are programs that invite themselves into your system’s ’Startup’ folder or one of the startup locations within your registry behind your back. Almost all trojans put themselves into your system startup so that they can get activated even after you restart your machine. Whether a program putting itself into your system startup is something legitimate that you’ve just installed or whether it’s something sneaking in behind your back, it’s always better to be in a position to allow or disallow it. You can trap a lot of adware, spyware, other malicious programs from wreaking havoc on your computer if you are notified everytime something decides to invite itself into your machine.
StartupMonitor is a small utility, a digital watchdog, that runs in the background and notifies you when any program registers itself to run at system startup. You can then choose to allow or disallow that program from starting up. StartupMonitor is freeware. The installation procedure is a no-brainer. It itself is extremely light on system resources and runs invisibly, only making its presence felt when it’s doing something useful.
