Some Windows Mobile 6.0 powered phones would ship with Opera Mobile Browser
Market sources say that some of the mobile devices to be shipped in the market powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 platform would ship with the Opera Mobile web browser.
Some of these phones are Motorola Inc.’s Q and other models from High Tech Computer Corp., Asus and Toshiba Corp.
This was revealed by the Opera Software co-founder and CEO Jon von Tetzchner. He was addressing the media at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona.
Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.0 already includes Internet Explorer Mobile but these companies are going to include Opera to give consumers more options.
Tetzchner said: “People do want a quality browser when on Windows Mobile.”
The company also ships Opera Mini browser for lower end mobile phones.
