Vodafone and Google to work on Maps on Mobiles

Vodafone Group PLC is the world’s largest mobile service provider in terms of subscriber base. The company has now said that they are going to work with search engine industry giant Google to develop maps for the mobile platform.

The company said in a statement that they would work with Google and provide easy-to-use maps, local listings and search and navigation capabilities.

Frank Rovekamp, global chief marketing officer of Vodafone added in a statement: “Vodafone sees Google Maps as a new milestone in the relationship that both companies are developing. It is a prime example of how Vodafone, through its location service and distribution scale, can complement Google’s products and unlock mass-market access to exciting services.”

Google operates two services related to maps, Google Maps and Google Earth.
