Valentine’s Day messages could be used to deliver viruses and worms

The Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and the security experts have warned that the occasion might result in viruses being delivered to web users masquerading as Valentine’s Day messages.

US security firm Panda Labs has already detected a new worm named Nurech.A going around. The company said in a statement: “Computer users should keep a wary eye on any romantic messages received by e-mail, as many of them could contain malicious code.”

This specific worm comes loaded with email messages with subjects like “Together You and I,” “Til the End of Time Heart of Mine.”

Another security application maker Symantec has said that they have also detected “large-scale spamming” of e-mails including a Trojan horse based on Peacomm or the “Storm Trojan”.

Symantec’s Orla Cox said in a statement: “With Valentine’s Day approaching, this time around the authors are attempting to tug on the heartstrings of unsuspecting users with romantic subject lines such as ‘My Heart belongs to you’.”
