Greynet Enterprise Manager: FaceTime Communications to offer Skype management application

FaceTime Communications has said that they are going to launch a new software next month which would allow users to manage Skype easily.

The company is planning to launch version 3.5 release of its Greynet Enterprise Manager application. This updated application would allow IT administrators to manage Skype installations on the network.

This application is already capable of managing some other instant messaging applications on the network and they have been working with eBay’s’ Skype to add its administration features.

The company said that they have used the APIs released by the company with version 3.0 of its VoIP application. This enabled them to enable the Skype management facilities in their own products.

Kurt Sauer, Skype’s chief security officer said in a statement: “The choice in the past has always been permit or deny. That has not been a particularly useful choice.”

FaceTime said that GEM 3.5 upgrade will be available next month to FaceTime Internet Security Edition users for no extra charge.
