Oracle updates its Oracle Secure Enterprise Search application
Database industry giant Oracle has launched the latest edition of its Oracle Secure Enterprise Search. The latest edition is Oracle Secure Enterprise Search 10g Release version 10.1.8.
This update adds support for third-party identity management directories so as to enable the administrators to tap into a company’s existing security rules.
This application also now supports more data sources, and a federated search feature. It can now integrate itself with third-party search engines, such as Google appliances.
Also added is support for Microsoft Active Directory, Novell eDirectory, Sun Java System Directory Server and OpenLDAP.
The company said that they have now added a federation framework that enables search results to be delivered from standalone servers providing search for individual information portals, or search engines embedded in applications.
Oracle said that Oracle Enterprise Search is available for Linux, Microsoft Windows and UNIX platforms. The pricing details are not yet available.
