Analysts: Exchange Server 2007 upgrade might be lengthy and painful process
Microsoft launched their Vista operating system earlier this week. In addition, the company also launched their Exchange Server 2007.
Experts and market analysts have said that upgrading to Exchange Server 2007 from previous versions also may be a lengthy and painful process for companies.
They suggest that corporate entities wait for a while before considering updating to the latest edition of this software application.
Keith McCall, a former Exchange director at Microsoft spoke about this product: “There are about 6,000 pages of documentation that an IT administrator will have to wade through to deploy (this product).”
He added: “You need to think hard, and you need to plan your server infrastructure to add the value and new functionality of Exchange 2007.”
Interestingly, this is the first major upgrade to this application since the launch of Exchange 2003.
