Super Bowl related website security compromised
Security experts have warned that the Web sites of the Miami Dolphins and Dolphin Stadium were compromised. Hackers managed to add on malicious code on these websites which attempted to compromise the system of visiting users.
This was first reported and discovered by the Websense’s automated tools on Jan. 26. The compromised websites are www.dolphinsstadium.com and www.miamidolphins.com. Some other sites from this network were also compromised.
Dan Hubbard, Websense’s senior director of security and technology research spoke about their findings: “If you go to the [affected] Super Bowl Web site with a Web browser that’s not running the latest and greatest patches from Microsoft, you could get exploited.”
Hubbard added that these affected sites serve up malicious JavaScript code that exploits two known Windows vulnerabilities.
