Oracle to launch WebCenter Suite later this month
Database market giants Oracle has said that they would be launching their WebCenter Suite before the end of the month.
This product would feature tools for the corporate entities to build application interfaces that incorporate content from a variety of sources. These tools would provide support for tools like blogs and Wikis which are increasingly becoming relevant in the business sector.
They would be taking on both IBM and Microsoft with this release as they are also developing similar software suites for their customers.
Oracle had originally announced this product at the OpenWorld conference in October. They would be selling this new product as an add-on to Oracle Application Server Enterprise Edition for $50,000 per CPU. Jim Murphy, an analyst with AMR Research spoke about this upcoming software product from Oracle: “Details on the functionality planned for the initial Fusion application release are nonexistent to date, but now we can at least see how Oracle thinks users will interact with the future suite.”
