Support for Windows XP operating system extended

Software giant Microsoft is due to launch their Vista OS later this month. However, they have some good news for the users of their existing Windows XP operating system.

The company has said that they are now extending technical support for home Windows XP operating systems.

Microsoft said in a statement that the “support life cycle” for Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Media Center Edition would be stretched to April 2009.

Similar support would be provided to the users of Windows XP professional edition.

This means that the company is not entirely abandoning the user base who would be sticking with the current generation of operating system products from them.
