Rumors: Apple Inc. might charge for Boot Camp application

Rumors in the market suggest that Apple is likely to charge for their Boot Camp application in its final release. This comes after Apple users got furious to hear that they had to pay a small charge to unlock 802.11n Wi-Fi technology on their Apple machines by downloading software from the company.

An Apple enthusiast website MacScoop said in a report that insider information claims that the company would be charging users $29.99 for the final version of Boot Camp for their upcoming operating system product OS X Tiger.

Market analysts believe that it would not be unusual for companies to charge for a completely developed product after beta testing. Tim Deal, a senior analyst with Pike & Fischer said: “At $30, Boot Camp is a steal. That’s a drop in the bucket for software that allows for a dual operating system.”

Users are however undecided on this report. Some claims that it would be unfortunate if Apple decides to charge a fee for this product which enables them to dual boot between OS X and Windows OS on their Mac machines. Other thinks that it is only obvious that they have to pay for the final product after seeing a lot of free test releases.
