Microsoft re-issues the MS Excel patch
Software giant Microsoft has reissued the earlier released patch for their spreadsheet application Microsoft Excel. The company said that the earlier patch made it impossible for some Excel 2000 users to open documents.
The problem affected some versions of their Excel 2000 application. These versions supported certain Asian languages by default which caused issues with the recently released patches.
The company admitted that the Excel 2000 users will find that they cannot open some Excel documents after they install the MS07-002 security update in case they have also configured Excel’s “executable mode” to Korean Japanese, or Korean. The MS07-002 update fixes five Excel flaws.
It was one of four security updates issued by Microsoft on Jan. 9.
