Internet Explorer 7 crosses 100 million installations

Microsoft has said that they have now crossed 100 million internet explorer 7 installations around the world. This was confirmed in a blog post by the firm’s group program manager, Tony Chor.

Microsoft reached this milestone on January 8.

He further went on to say that WebSideStory (WSS) claims that over 25 per cent of all visitors to websites in the US were using IE7. This means that the Internet Explorer 7 web browser is now the second most popular web browser in the country after the Internet Explorer 6 edition.

However, the statistics company does not have the resources to track the usage of all the sites being visited from the country so the reports are limited to a limited pool of sites.
