Oracle releases as many as 51 security updates
If Microsoft’s patch releases were not enough, Oracle is coming out with their own massive updates for their applications.
The company has released 51 new security fixes for flaws across its database and application server products. Some of the patches are for their collaboration software and e-business suites.
Oracle said that of these patches, 26 fixes addressed flaws in the company’s database products. As many as 10 of these flaws could be remotely exploited without the need for a username or a password.
The release also included 12 fixes for vulnerabilities in Oracle’s Application Server software. Eight of these are rated critical.
This was not the most extensive release by the company as they had in October 2006 released as many as 101 patches.
These latest patches were released as part of Oracle’s regularly scheduled quarterly security updates.
