OpenOffice WMF bug fix now available
The developers of the open source office productivity suite OpenOffice have made available a patch for vulnerability in the application.
Security experts have claimed that this bug related to Windows Metafile (WMF) or Enhanced Metafile (EMF) formats was highly critical.
This bug could be used by hackers to create a malicious file which if opened in an unpatched computer could run unauthorized code on the computer.
The patch has been released by the OpenOffice developers and it is being distributed around by Red Hat which ships their Linux distributions with this office productivity suite.
The developers have claimed that no public exploits or even proof-of-concept code has been discovered.
