Microsoft now has customers for their Linux Support
Software giant Microsoft has confirmed that they now have three customers for their offer of technical support for Novell Inc.’s SUSE Enterprise Linux.
These new customers include two banks and an insurance company. One of these three is the Credit Suisse Group which is yet to implement SuSE Linux.
As part of their agreement with Novell, Microsoft had promised to spend $440 million on sales, marketing and license fees in support of Novell’s SUSE Linux distribution.
Credit Suisse would be a new customer for Novell. Novell representative Susan Heystee spoke on this: “They are making a commitment to deploying SUSE Linux in their virtualization environment.”
The other two clients are Deutsche Bank AG and AIG Technologies. These two companies have activated SUSE Linux subscriptions. AIG Technologies spokesman Michael Arcaro confirmed that they have struck a deal with Microsoft.
