Apple releases a bunch of updates for their applications
Apple Computer has released a bunch of patches and updates for their Mac OS X operating system. The company said that this latest release of software patches would fix around 22 bugs in the operating system powering their Mac computers.
These patches include the fix for the critical Wi-Fi flaw affecting eMac, iBook, iMac, PowerBook G3, PowerBook G4 and Power Mac G4 systems.
Apple Computer confirmed this flaw, which was originally exposed at the beginning of the Month of Kernel Bugs project. It exists in the AirPort wireless driver’s handling of probe response frames.
The company added in their security advisory release: “An attacker in local proximity may be able to trigger the overflow by sending maliciously crafted information elements in probe responses.” Apple added that the flaw did not affect the systems with the AirPort Extreme card.
