Webroot Software launches parental control software
Webroot Software is most popularly known for their anti-spyware program Spy Sweeper. Now, the company is targeting to help parents control what their kids can access on the internet.
The company has now launched Child Safe, which joins a list of existing programs like Net Nanny, CYBERsitter and ContentProtect in the parental-control arena.
Webroot is selling this application for $39.95 for a one-year subscription for use on up to three computers.
CEO David Moll said that the growing popularity of online social networking portals makes it necessary for the parents to control their kid’s activities online.
Webroot Chief Operating Officer Mike Irwin added: “It’s not for the savvy Internet user. It’s a product for the savvy Internet user’s parents.” They are also collaborating with Best Buy in the USA to sell this product.
