ZoneAlarm to use Kaspersky antivirus engine in ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7
Security applications maker CheckPoint Software has launched a new beta version of their popular ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite.
The beta is for the version 7 of this software security product. The company has used antivirus component powered by Kaspersky Labs in this release. They have been using an antivirus engine from Computer Associates in previous versions.
CheckPoint stated that Kaspersky’s hourly signature releases would ensure that the users are up-to-date with the latest security patches and are protected against newer threats emerging on the internet.
In addition, the company said that the application’s OSFirewall behavior-based protection, introduced in version 6, gains additional malware-mashing power.
The spyware component of the application has also been upgraded with newer capabilities and is more robust and “provides an additional layer of defense against blended threats” as per the information provided by the company.
