CompUSA gets to sell Vista early
Microsoft has said that they would start selling licenses of their upcoming Windows Vista operating system and Office 2007 productivity suite through CompUSA starting November 30 this year.
This means that CompUSA would get to sell these much awaited software products 2 months before the official retail release in the market.
Microsoft added that customers will be able to buy licensing agreements to run Windows Vista Business and Microsoft Office Small Business 2007 on five or more personal computers. The news is important as it would allow small businesses to get access to the software products along with the large customers of the company who would also get these software products early on.
This is the first time Microsoft is allowing small business customers to buy licenses for new operating system before the general public. Cindy Bates, general manager of small business sales at Microsoft said in a statement: “Over 50 percent of our small business customers shop in retail stores. Last time, if you walked into store you were only able to buy the boxed product, which is more expensive and less easy to manage.”
