Google adds Google Talk features to Orkut
Google has now finally added some features on their unofficial Orkut network to make them work with other Google services.
The company posted some details on this update on the Google Blog. Users can now see if their Orkut buddies are online on Google Talk.
They would see a colored icon along with their name on Orkut. The blog post says:
Green means they’re available; orange means they’re away from their computer; and red means they’re busy.
Users can now initiate a chat conversation with the buddy. They can also make use of other Google Talk features like making voice calls, leave voicemail, and transfer files.
In addition, users would also get alerts from Orkut on their Google Talk. This includes alerts for new scraps. Seems like a usable feature addition for millions of Orkut users worldwide.
