Skype 3.0 brings support for automatic click-to-call features
Web telephone-calling company Skype has launched a beta of their latest software offering Skype 3.0. This applications feature automatic click-to-call capability which is expected to make shopping easier.
Skype Chief Executive Niklas Zennstrom said in a statement that the new features in this update would help the company move beyond its dependence on communications revenue.
He said: “You are also going to see new services which are more targeted to e-commerce.”
Skype application enables people to use their internet connection to talk to their friends and relatives. It also offers cheap rates for calling on regular landline and mobile phones.
The new click-to-call feature would allow calls to be made the moment a Skype user clicks on a phone number listed on any Web page. This can be integrated with online advertisement for best results. eBay own Skype and their users could benefit from this feature immensely.
