Microsoft targets online sellers of its pirated software
Software giant Microsoft has said that they have filed more than 50 lawsuits and other legal actions worldwide against people they claim are selling pirated copies of its software using online auction sites including eBay.
These are the latest lawsuits filed by the company to curb piracy of their software products including Windows operating system and MS Office productivity suite.
They are also getting aggressive with their efforts against piracy as they are noticing their primary markets getting saturated leading to falling sales.
The company is due to launch major software products including Windows Vista OS and the next version of MS Office in the coming months. These lawsuits were filed in the United States, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Korea, Poland and several other countries.
Microsoft is also working hard with auction sites including eBay to remove listings for software it believes is pirated.
