Dell believes Vista would require 2 GB RAM for optimal performance
Dell Inc. Chief Executive Kevin Rollins has said in a statement that they believe that the upcoming Vista operating system from Microsoft would require double the memory suggested by the company.
Microsoft has said that Vista would perform optimally with 1 GB RAM on the systems. Dell believes that it might require as much as 2 GB for optimum performance.
Rollins said in a statement: “I think they tell you maybe 1 gig of memory is OK. No. Two gigs of memory would be great.”
The operating system launch is expected to boost the demand for memory chips in the market. This is going to benefit companies like Samsung which are major suppliers of RAM memory in the market.
Despite the fact that RAM is decently priced in the market but few systems in the market are sold with as much as 2 GB RAM.
