Office Genuine Advantage becomes mandatory
Microsoft has said that its Office worker productivity and collaboration suite would become the next piece of software to have mandatory piracy checks.
This Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) program will require mandatory validation of Office software. Now, any templates downloaded from within the Office 2007 Microsoft Office System applications will require validation of legitimacy.
Starting from January next year, users of Office Update will have to validate their Office installation before they can use the service.
The company however ensured that this validation process will be “quick and simple” for users.

What next? DNA Testing? It doesnt and will not stop pirates. People just use their LMHOSTS file to point to a local fake MS license server… Microsoft got rich with their boat leaking, and it would continue to get rich. This focus on piracy is taking away resources from development and making more ways for their already unstable software to crash. People who can afford the software will buy it and those who cant will steal it. making software so it cant be stolen doesnt raise profits since they wont buy it anyway, so why bother? Worse case scenario is they go into a store and steal it off the shelf costing us the consumers even more money in the long run. Please stop and think, Microsft, and get back on track.
