Microsoft investigating the Secunia reported bug in Internet Explorer 7
Software giant Microsoft has said that they are currently investigating the recently revealed bug in their Internet Explorer 7 web browser by the security company Secunia.
Danish vulnerability tracker Secunia has a working example of the bug on their website where a bogus site seems to have a legitimate address. This bug affects the most recent version of the web browser IE7.
Secunia said: “This is the kind of spoofing vulnerability which IE7 was supposed to be better at protecting.”
They have rated this bug as “Less critical”, the second-lowest ranking in its five-step scale.
Christopher Budd, security program manager at Microsoft’s Security Response Center (MSRC) responded in a blog post: “We’re not aware of any attacks that are attempting to use this. But as always we will continue to monitor the situation throughout our investigation.”
