Indichat: Yahoo! launches Messenger with Hindi and Tamil language support
Internet giants Yahoo! has launched a new feature ‘Indichat’ in their Yahoo! Messenger application. This feature would enable users to interact with their messenger buddies in languages like Hindi and Tamil.
Interestingly, they would be able to chat in these languages without requiring a language keyboard.
Yahoo! India Managing Director George Zacharias spoke on this launch: “Chat and e-mail are two of most important uses of Internet. Indichat allows you to chat with your friends in Hindi or other regional languages.”
Users of Yahoo! Messenger browser can use this new feature by logging into the Side Panel plug-in. the company plans to add support for as many as 14-16 languages in next few quarters.
