Microsoft launches Internet Explorer 7

Software giant Microsoft has finally released the long-awaited version of the Internet Explorer 7 browser for the Windows XP operating system.

Interestingly, this is the first major update to this browser application since 2001. As of now, interested users can download this latest version from the company’s website for free.

Microsoft is also expected to deliver this application as a high-priority update via Microsoft’s Automatic Updates service starting next month.

Internet Explorer 7 supports Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows XP 64-bit Edition, and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1. As of now, only the English language version is available.

An enhanced version of the browser would be delivered with Windows Vista when it is shipped to Microsoft’s corporate customers sometime next month.
