Oracle comes out with 101 patches for their applications
If you thought that Microsoft releases way too many patches on their Patch Tuesdays, listen to this. Oracle Corp has released as many as 101 new patches in their latest quarterly updates, which addresses vulnerabilities across its range of database and application server products along with their collaboration and e-business suites.
63 of these patches are for Oracle’s database products. 14 are to fix flaws in the company’s application server products. 13 patches have been released for the e-business suites. Nine other patches are for the security flaws in the company’s PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards software.
Oracle’s security blog added on these patches: “More than one-third of the vulnerabilities patched in this [critical patch update] are in an optional product and do not affect most customers. It is also worth noting that 22 of the vulnerabilities addressed in this CPU affect Oracle Database, but none of these vulnerabilities impact Oracle Database Client.”
