Sun ensures that Java would work flawlessly with Windows Vista
Microsoft is due to launch their Vista operating system to corporate customers sometime next month. Retail launch is due for January next year.
Sun has now said that reports claiming that Java would have issues with Vista are not true and they would soon launch Java Standard Edition 6, which would be totally compatible with Vista.
Java Standard Edition 6 would be launched next month. Chet Haase, architect for the Java desktop client group at Sun spoke on this topic: “There were various areas where Vista had changed substantially [from] Windows XP that we needed to account for.”
The developers at the company worked on issues, which were caused by the new features introduced in the Vista operating system. Java SE 6 would also introduce features like the ability to mix JavaScript with Java, more desktop APIs, and security enhancements.
