Google confirms that they are now rolling out new Gmail look to all subscribers
Update: Now enabled for ALL USERS!
Google has finally confirmed the launch of the new Gmail design that is being rolled out to the users in batches.
This new user interface would be available as an opt-in feature in the near future. Though eventually all users would be switched to it.
The new interface looks very nice. The preview theme that is already available shows just part of it.
Features:
Streamlined conversations: Conversation view has been updated and it now features user profile pictures and looks like more of a chat conversation.
Elastic density: This is probably the best part. Gmail would render based on your display size. And it would change as you change your browser size.
HD Themes: If you do not like the default new interface, the themes have been updated and some of them are suited for HD displays.
Smarter Navigation further enhances the usability of the Gmail web app.
Smarter Search: This is my favorite. You can make an advance search right from the search box at the top. This really makes it a very powerful feature.
