Microsoft releases possible final public test build of Windows Vista
Software giant Microsoft has released what they hope would be the last public test build of their upcoming operating system product Windows Vista.
The company is now working on completing final touches to this product to release it to business customers starting next month.
Public launch is scheduled for January next year. Microsoft said that the Release Candidate 2 of Vista is being made available to technical testers and developers along with some users who tested RC1.
The company added in a statement: “As we stated from the beginning of Windows Vista development, the quality of the product will always be our first priority. That said, Microsoft continues to target Windows Vista availability for volume license customers in November 2006 and general availability in January 2007, although the final delivery will be based on quality.”
It added: “Microsoft has continued to receive excellent feedback that is helping to improve the overall quality and performance of the product. RC2 reflects that feedback and includes important improvements in performance, application compatibility and fit and finish work.”
